Dear Parents
Another exciting week has passed here at Ascot. The students have had the opportunity to learn about dinosaurs in this week's assembly and they also saw their Student Council in action, greeting them at the start of assembly and dismissing them at the end.
Our Year 3 classes had the wonderful opportunity this week to have a Skype class with Redfield School in India. The students bridged the cultural divide by teaching each other about their respective cultures and countries. It was a wonderful experience for all involved and pictures of this activity will be posted here in the near future. We would like to thank Ms. Spragg who organised this wonderful experience for the students. We are hoping to have more school links opportunities with a variety of schools over the coming months and years.
There are just a few items to bring your attention to:
1. Next week your child's homeroom teachers will be sending home a letter outlining our new Math program, Abacus. This program incorporates practical math learning with online interactive support and extension activities. Please make sure to review the document carefully. It will also be posted on this site for all to review. There will also be an opportunity for parents to learn more about this program at our upcoming Math Curriculum Presentation in November. Further details about that event will be forthcoming in the future.
2. Also on Monday we will be sending home an information letter about the upcoming House Colors Day. This event will be an opportunity for students to participate in team building activities with their Houses. Please pay close attention to the letter as it will contain very important information which will help us to have a successful House Colours Day.
If you have any questions about these items please feel free to talk to your child's homeroom teacher. Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued support.
