Dear Parents
and Students
Two exciting weeks have passed
already. And what a two weeks it has been! The students have been enjoying
learning, creating, playing and socializing at Ascot. As you walk through the
hallways examples of their first pieces of work are now being displayed in
front of classes and at the entrance to the school. We have also had our first assembly and that
means our first stars of the week.
This week’s assembly will also be a fun time as students will
be voting for their House Prefects and Deputy Prefects. These House Prefects
and Deputy Prefects will form the Primary Years part of Ascot’s student
council. They will also be responsible for helping to lead their houses during
house activities and being a role model for the younger students in their
houses and throughout the school. We would like to wish them the best of luck
and look at the Primary Blog next week to find out which students were
successful and will now make up our Primary Student Council.
Our ECAs also started well this week. Students got the
opportunity to enjoy their chosen activity and I am sure they will only
continue to learn about and enjoy their ECAs throughout the coming term. Ms.
Lavery, our ECA Coordinator will be adding pictures of the various ECAs on this
blog throughout the coming term. So make sure to visit often. Just a few
reminders for parents this week:
1. Please ensure that you pick up your
child on time. If your child is not participating in an ECA please pick them up
at 3:00 p.m. If your child is involved
in an ECA please pick them up at 4:00 p.m.
On Fridays there are no ECAs so please pick up your child at 3:00 p.m.
If you are going to be late, please inform the office and they will let your
child’s teacher know.
2. Starting next week we will be
changing the procedure for students that arrive late in Primary. If your child
arrives after 8:00 they will have to go to reception to receive a class entry
card. Once this is received by the child then they can proceed to class. They will
not be allowed into class unless this card is given to the teacher. If you are
accompanying your child to school please ensure that you pick up this card at
the office if you arrive late with your child. This new process will allow us
to effectively track whether students are on or off site and is necessary in
the event of an emergency.
3. A letter has been sent home today
outlining our classroom incentive system, Class Dojo. Please take the time to
carefully read the letter as it will help you have a better understanding of how
we are rewarding students in Primary.
4. If your child needs to miss more than
two days of school please email the Head of Primary at renie@ascot.ac.th directly to inform him of their
absence
If you have
any questions about the information in this newsletter please feel free to
email your child’s homeroom teacher. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for
your continued support.
Best Regards
Mark Renie
Head of Primary
Ascot International School
