Dear PY Parents,
We are now finishing our third week of school. The time has flown by and the students have settled into their new classes very well. Now that we are all settled in, PY will start to have a variety of themed activities over the coming months. Look out for information on our upcoming events such as House Colours Day and Book Week. These events are right around the corner and teachers will be sending home information about these events very soon.
This week I would like to share with you three items that you need to be aware of:
1. Thank you for supporting us in regards to making the PY building a teacher and student only area. Based on your feedback we have decided to open the building to parents before 7:40 and after 4:00. This will provide you an opportunity to chat with your child’s teacher or TA in the event that there is pertinent information you need to pass on to them. You are also encouraged to make an appointment with your child’s teacher if you would like to have a more detailed discussion about an issue.
2. In regards to the concerns raised about swimming and the potential for illness please be aware that:
- Children who are too ill to attend swimming class (supported by a doctor’s note) will be taken to the library swimming time.
- Swimming classes will be dismissed earlier to ensure that children will be able to dry their hair. TAs will also support children with this in the younger years.
- Teachers have been instructed to turn up or off class air conditioners after a swimming class to ensure that students are not exposed to cold air when they have just completed their swimming class.
Year 1 and 2 - Tuesday 8:00 am
Year 3 - Wednesday 8:00 am
Year 4 - Thursday 8:00 am
Year 5 - Friday 8:00 am
These workshops will be held in the New Secondary Building’s meeting room on the third floor. We look forward to seeing you there.
If you have any questions about the items mentioned in this letter please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s homeroom teacher either by email or in person. Thank you for your continued support. Have a nice weekend.
Best regards,
Ascot International Primary School Team
