A Busy Two Weeks at Ascot PY and EY

October 4th, 2016

Dear Parents

It has been quite a busy few weeks at Ascot EY and PY. Over the past week we have had our House Colours Day where all our students participated in a full day of events to support their House team. After a very competitive and close competition, the Aztec House emerged as winners.

Our House Colours Day was followed by our school's annual Book Week. This year we had a special guest, visit our school to help us celebrate Book Week, the famous Clive PIG. He was well received by teachers and students and provided storytelling workshops to all our students.

We also had our Book Week contests and our Book Week theme, Space.  Throughout the week there were guest readers in both PY and EY and reading buddies from PY joined EY classes to read to them. The event culminated with our dress up day on Friday. Word did get out about our wonderful Book Week, with the SUN report asking us if they could come in to film our Book Week activities. Book Week was a very successful event as students had many opportunities to read and enjoy learning through books and reading activities.

With only two weeks to go before Half Term Break, there are two very important events that will be happening that you need to be aware of:

1. We will be having our first Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday October 11th and Wednesday October 12th from 3:00 - 5:00. Sign up forms are now available in the area between the EY and PY buildings. Please sign up soon to ensure that you secure a time slot that is convenient for you.

2. On Friday October 14th we will be hosting our annual Charity Day. This year we will be raising money for Operation Smile Thailand. Please check the link for more details about this excellent charity. Further details about this event will be sent out this week.

Please see below for pictures from the past two weeks' events, House Colours Day and Book Week. Thank you for your continued support.
