Welcome Back!

Dear Parents

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a restful and wonderful half term break. The half term ended in fantastic fashion with our school community holding a charity event to help support our school charity, Watsi. What a wonderful day it was with students and parents setting up stalls that offered a variety of games, activities and items for sale. In the end we raised 110,000 Baht, more than doubling our goal of 52,000 Baht. The extra money we raised will be donated to the Nepal Earthquake Children's Relief Fund to help Nepal in their rebuilding efforts after the devastating earthquake earlier this year.

We would like to thank Ms. Lavery and our Student Council for organizing such an outstanding and successful event. We would also like to thank our whole school community for doing their part in making this event successful. This success is a testament to the big heart that our community has and the strong values that we hold dear.

This week there are a few reminders. Please pay attention to the following:

1. During this week we will be holding our residential presentations for KS2. These residentials will be held from January 13th-15th 2016 and the presentations are a great opportunity to find out more information and to ask questions. The presentations are being held in the PY Library and the details are as follows:

Monday 26th October
Year 5

Wednesday 28th October
Year 4

2. This Friday we will be having our Halloween celebration. It will be an opportunity for students to learn about this celebration and its history. Students will also participate in a variety of Halloween themed activities during the afternoon. The best costume from each class will also be chosen, so don't forget to dress your child up for that day.

3. Next Friday we will be hosting the first of our parent curriculum presentations for the school year. This presentation will be about our Math curriculum and will be led by our Numeracy Coordinator, Ms.Chloe Kniveton. We encourage parents to attend as it is an opportunity for you to become more informed about our new curricular initiatives in Math and also learn about our upcoming Math initiatives.

4. Just a reminder to all parents to please let us know if another parent will be picking up your child from school. The school policy is clear in regards to this issue, children will only be released to their parent or guardian. If you have asked another parent to pick up your child please inform our school secretary, the class teacher or the class TA. Unless we have been informed we will not be releasing the child to any other individual. Thank you for your understanding and support regarding this issue.

If you have questions about any item in this letter please don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher. Thank you for your continued support.
